You are certainly entitled to your opinion. But, to be very clear, the bills would not have raised taxes. They would’ve given localities the power to ask voters if they wanted to raise the sales tax by a penny to pay for school construction.
By vetoing the bills, the governor blocked localities ability to ask voters if they want to raise taxes to pay for school construction as the article states.
I'm glad he did, people are taxed to death already!
